Hello my angels.
I’ve decided to start “The Monthly Report” to encompass all the things I’m currently loving, doing, and trying. Of course, I’ll be including restaurants, but I wanted to branch out into other topics beyond just food. Believe it or not, I do other things besides work and dine ;). I was thinking of including topics like fashion, reality TV, books I’m reading, workout classes I’m taking—you get the gist. It’ll vary each month.
STARTING WITH APRIL! A FAB MONTH, MAY I SAY!
Life gets immediately better when I’m in the warmth. See proof above.
3 Life Highlights!
Visiting my parents in Florida
I’m not sure how much I’ve mentioned this before, but my parents are snowbirds and live in Fort Myers for most of the year. When they both retired in 2022, there was originally no plan to move down to Florida. However, my great aunt passed away at 95, and with no children to will her house to, my dad was next in line to take ownership. So right now, they’re renovating it and will be selling my childhood home in Jersey this fall. Eeek.
The perk of it all? I now have a place in sunny Florida I can escape to whenever I need a break from the city. This past month, I went down to see them for Easter. We took a weekend trip to Key West—a place I grew up going to every year and one I cherish dearly. I can’t wait to create my guide on it.
Running the Half Marathon
On a cold December day, with a fully developed frontal lobe (of only four months), I decided to sign myself up for the Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon, a race I had no business being a part of. To give you a glimpse into my athletic abilities... growing up, I would skip laps at swim practice with my friends or hide in the bathroom during dry land. I’m no natural athlete—let’s just say that.
All that being said, I’m extremely goal-oriented. Lazy? Sure. But goal-oriented. I knew that if I signed myself up, I’d follow through. I wanted to hold myself accountable for my exercise and also experience a race through the incredible borough I live in. I do hope to run the full NYC Marathon one day, so I figured this would give me a lil taste.
I run at a snail’s pace, but honestly, I had a fabulous time and would 100% do it again.
Being TF Outside
The weather is finally getting on its way in New York City. I didn’t think the cold, dark winter hit me as hard as it did—but wow, am I happy to feel something again. I forgot what it was like to not bundle up in seven layers, only to sweat through them on the subway.
So, it may be boring, but an overarching highlight for me in April was simply being outside again. Few things bring me more joy than outdoor dining. Bonus points if it’s midweek. Don’t ask me why—I don’t know the logic either.
3 Restaurants!
Sunn’s
My favorite restaurant I ate at in April and honestly, one of the best of 2025 so far. It’s a little Korean wine bar in LES, right across the street from Le Dive. It started as a pop-up, but now Sunny is cranking out the most insane banchan, along with other Korean specialties.
Some people have their panties in a wad about paying for banchan. Yes, I know it’s not traditionally something you pay for—but at Sunn’s, I gladly will. It’s by far the best banchan I’ve ever had. We loved it so much, we even tried recreating some at home.
Not a bad bite was had.
Agi’s
So I actually hate brunch. If I ever get on Subway Takes (Kareem, HMU), that’s 100% going to be my take. Brunch is bad. Brunch at Agi’s is fabulous.
It’s a Jewish Hungarian restaurant, and the best part about the menu? There aren’t overpriced eggs or a $40 mimosa carafe in fancy font glaring at me on the menu. Instead, you’ll find a perfect mix of breakfast and lunch, sweet and savory.
ORDER THIS:
Confit Tuna Melt
Palacsinta (Hungarian Crêpes)
Caramelized Grapefruit + Yogurt
Nokedli Soup
Cheesecake (can’t vouch personally, but people LOVE it)
Lion’s Bar
East Village gem, IMO. Walking by, it’s really nothing special and it’s easy to miss it. However, they have such an incredible burger that I actually need you to stop what you’re doing and text your friend.
Text them that on the next gorgeous 75-degree day, they’re booked. You guys are going to Lions Bar to drink a spritz, eat a burger, and talk shit. Lethal combo;)
3 Beauty Products!
I know I always yap about food but deep down I’m also just a girl!!!!!!!! A girl who balled tf out during the Sephora sale may I add.
Blush is having its moment in my life right now. I loveeeeee packing it on in the summer for that glowy natural look and after purchasing Merit’s cream blush I am obsessed. I got it in the shade Lusitano!
Another Sephora sale snag. I’ve been loving cream products recently and this has been a go to for that natural bronzy look. It blends beautifully with a beauty blender, your fingers, or a brush!!!
Maybelline Super Fluff Brow Mousse
GLOSSIER BOY BROW DUPE!!!! I love my boy brow but I also love this Superfluff brow mousse too. It gives color to your brows without it being overbearing or sticky like other eyebrow products i’ve used.
3 Shows!
I don’t have much downtime between working full time and pouring my literal blood sweat tears into my social media accounts so I like to take advantage of my editing time to catch up on my shows. I love TV and I am not afraid to say it!!!!! Here’s what I’ve been watching.
Temptation Island
It’s like a car crash—you can’t look away. If you’re unfamiliar... four couples (clearly in unstable relationships) voluntarily sign themselves up for this show. They’re separated and put into two houses: one with 12 single women and one with 12 single men, all solely there to tempt them.
I just have to say I need Grant in prison STAT.
Summer House
A nearly perfect show, in my opinion. I genuinely think it’s one of the most superior series on Bravo and honestly, I put it above multiple Housewives franchises.
Although I think this current cast’s time is nearing the end, I truly have a special place in my heart for these people who shack up in the Hamptons for a few weekends each summer.
Quick Thoughts:
Would love to see Lindsay shine as a mom on another show.
Jesse is not it this season but West is in his redemption era.
CAN WE GIVE GABBY SOME SCREEN TIME I’M BEGGING.
Paige Desorbo has practically raised me.
Love On The Spectrum
A feel good show that will literally flip my mood. I am obsessed with everyone on the show. Everyone. I am begging for another season soon please I am dying for a Connor and Georgie update.
3 Accessories!
One thing about me is I loveeeeeee an accessory. My favorites being earrings and sunglasses but I love it all I don’t discriminate.
One of my favorite sunglass brands everrrrrrrr. I love wearing sunglasses becausethey add that lil UMPH to any fit or look. Currently loving the Dixie and Cleo styles.
My recent favorite jewelry brand has been Petit Moments—they make such fun and colorful pieces. I recently got a pair of earrings and a choker from them and love both. Perfect for summer!
I have a pair from H&M that I wear practically daily—they don’t even make them anymore, but there are soooo many similar styles out there. I’ll link a pair from H&M in a different fabric that’s super close! These are perfect for summer and ideal for city girls who don’t want their feet totally exposed on the streets, haha.
3 Workouts!
I used to think growing up that exercise was a chore. Even in college, it was something I felt I had to do, not something I wanted to do. I’ve since realized that I need to be in CLASSES! Classes have literally changed the way I view working out, and I’m so thankful to live in NYC where there are so many to choose from.
I talk about this place constantly in my videos and stories, but it’s honestly one of my favorite spots I’ve stayed so consistent at. A lot of pilates classes are intense, but at ERP, I always leave feeling sooooo calm. It’s almost like a reset for me.
Running
BORING, I know, but as the weather’s gotten nicer, I’ve been loving running outside on the weekends. Running’s not my favorite exercise by any means, but I’ve been enjoying finding a spot for lunch or breakfast and then running there on a nice day. Even if you don’t run, I highly recommend taking a long 3-5 mile walk to a destination.
Ft. above are my cutie colorful Reebok Floatzig 1s!!!
Something pretty foreign to me is weightlifting, so I love that Equinox offers a class where you lift weights! The reason I never really gravitated toward it in the past is because I didn’t know what I was doing, so I really appreciate being guided through the different free weight exercises.
3 Skincare Products!
I am not someone with 500 steps in their skincare routine. I’m super intentional about what I am using so here’s a few of my go too I have been using non stop this month:
Does anyone else have neck lines, or is it just me? WELL, I HAVE ‘EM! This cream is supposed to be applied twice a day, but I only do it once. Although my lines are still there, I’ve definitely seen them fade!
I could go on and on about this bad boy. I’ve been through no joke 15 bottles of it. It feels like I’m at the spa every time. I use the Santal scent.
I loveeeee this anti aging treatment. It goes on the skin so nicely and doesn’t break me out. I put it on every night to help with firmness and fine lines.
3 Desserts!
Duh.
I feel like I scream this from the rooftops but I love Unreal. It’s clean ingredients and tastes incredible. My 2 favorites are the almond butter cups and the orange bag which is basically snickers. Trust.
The best frozen dough cookies out there. They tend to get a lot of shit for being so expensive but tbh 1 cookie is so heavy and filling it’s become a bit of a special treat for me. Like a once a week thing. If you price it out like that then it’s not so ~bad~. I get them at Pop Up Grocer!
Blizzards
A lil at home blizzard moment is everyyyyyything to me recently and it’s so customizable. I love adding different candy and mixxxxxing it all up. I recently did an ad with Kellogg’s where I made one using their protein cereal and it’s genuinely so good.
That’s all for April. Let me know if this is something you guys enjoy and want to see. I plan to change up the categories each month depending on what I am loving hehe.
XOXO Kaitlyn
congrats on the marathon, I should've done it to burn all the calories I'm inhaling hahah
I love this monthly round-up! And that you’re including other topics, especially beauty products!! Xx
